Abstract

In this paper were studied external and inner concrete surfaces performance due to exposition to chloride ion and CO2 penetration. Were found better performance of lateral and bottom surfaces than top surfaces and inner surfaces from extracted cylinders. Reducing W/C rate and slump increase the resistance of this aggressive agents. With this results, molds for prefabricated elements can be projected in a way that the surfaces with higher performance will be exposed to more aggressive microenvironments, or that additional protection must be planned, including differentiate specification for concrete cover.
