Abstract

The thermal sensations of workers were evaluated for six industries, located in two different areas in Brazil, with different climatic characteristics and thermal control systems. Ambient parameters were measured based on the ISO 7726 specifications. The workers' metabolic heat was evaluated according to ISO 8996 and the clothing thermal resistance according to ISO 9920. The thermal sensations were estimated according to ISO 10551 questionnaire. Environmental thermal conditions, clothing thermal resistance and workers' activity, were denominated covariables, which influenced the answers of the questionnaires, denominated variables. Based on well founded research and statistical analysis it was shown the relationship, identifying the factors that most affect worker's thermal sensations.
