Abstract

The high-performance concrete (HPC) can be considered as a material of the new generation of the composites to the building. The (HPC) was developed initially in constructions of platforms for exploration of petroleum in the north sea that required concrete of excellent quality, beside a slump of 220 mm. Before the water-reducing (WR), was put about 2 liters for m³ of concrete, became used in the amount of 8 to 12 liters. The improvement of performance of the concrete as to the strength and durability, was resulted from the " Filler " effect and of the pozzolanic activity of the silica fume, wich increase the workability promoted by the use of the superplasticizers of last generation and of the adequate composition that allow, a mixture of larger density. In this work is presented a procedure for mixture proportioning of (HPC) attempting all the needs related to the fresh mixture and the expected strength. Some considerations are made about the properties of (HPC) and it contributes in the progress of the works of civil engineering.
