Abstract

The direct generation of steam in the solar concentrators of the thermal solar plants has to be structural problems due to the deflection of the absorbers pipes in parabolic concentrators due to temperature gradients in the radial and angle directions. In this work a thermal analysis is done on an absorber pipe with walls composed of copper and steel, and heat transfer is modeled for the stable and transient states. The mathematical models obtained are solved using the technique of finite differences. In the results are presented the radial and angular temperature distributions, and the time in which the system reaches the stationary state under the studied conditions is also determined. The absorber pipe is a system of composed walls, formed by commercial copper pipes type k of 0.061.849 and 0.066.675m internal and external diameter respectively and a steel pipe schedule 160 of 0.066700m of internal diameter and, 0.088900m of external diameter, whose composition is Cu (20%)-Steel (80%).
