Abstract

In order to find a material that diminished the thermal transmission in the clear glass of 6 mm, the most used in residential buildings in Colombia, several boxes of insulating material with different glass samples were measured to define as behaves this glass with respect to others with different thickness,colours and textures.Next several materials were superimposed over the glass of 6 mm that didn ’t alter the visibility,to compare as it behaved thermally when had some type of protection.The fibber glass mesh was the superficial treatment that reduced in most the passage of heat,and for the verification it was measured during one week the temperature of two rooms,the first had the two windows protected with the fibber glass mesh and the second had two windows exposed to the sun.This way it was possible to be determined how much improved the thermal reduction to the interior of the space that without no protection was enough discomfort specially in the hours from afternoon.
