Abstract

This project ’s objective is to implement temperature behaviour of interiors when varying areas and window orientations to a software tool,in order to determine each window ’s appropriate size and orientation. The mentioned subject was developed by measuring temperatures of interiors from scale models at the same time as computer simulations were carried out.Temperature behaviour was observed during measurements,and window dimensions and orientations were compared using computer simulations in order to find the ones that caused such behaviour. Measurements and procedures showed clear relations between direct solar radiation that reaches a certain place and the amount of °C it increases its temperature,and that maximum overheating of the places due to direct solar radiation incidence is caused by proximity or coincidence of the time of maximum radiation incidence through the window and the time of maximum initial temperature of the place.(maximum initial temperature refers to the maximum temperature of the place free of direct solar radiation incidence).
