Abstract

This paper describes a series of studies carried out using Lightscape 3.2 as a daylighting simulation tool. Lightscape is a software firstly developed to calculate artificial lighting in architectural environments. Later on, the daylighting tools were added to the program. A series of simulations was done to verify the potentials use of Lightscape as a development tool for daylighting design. The program as tested for three relevant items in the simulation process: surfaces behavior regarding their physical characteristics, behavior against different daylight parameters and use of specular elements. The simulations were done using a model classroom located in Florianópolis, Brazil.
