Abstract

This paper presents the development of a computer routine based on electronic architectural models. As a final result an animation is produced through 3D Studio Max software, making possible an analysis of the building and its relationship with the urban environment concerning sunlighting conditions. A geometrical model of the sky was modeled and sun-path arcs were generated to work as trajectories for a light source representing the sun. The main objective of this routine is to integrate softwares well known by students and professionals of architecture and engineering in order to improve the Thermal Comfort analysis of buildings and surroundings.
