Abstract

The present paper is about an essential subject for a good performance of natural ventilation systems, that is, the building internal permeability. To exist an internal airflow in the building, the same edification must be permeable to this airflow passage. The aim of this study is to describe a methodology that could be explained by computer simulations, which aims to verify these internal devices performances. These devices are the upper wings of a door, door slits, and venetians on the internal doors bottom panels. Performance verification will be done in a future study of case, on which the quantity of ambient air renovations will be verified, considering the limit layer of atmosphere, medium speed and internal features of the constructed building, using Software VENTIL[1] developed by Dr. Jorge Saraiva – LNEC, Lisbon.
