Resumo

A conservação do patrimônio construído é parte integral da sustentabilidade. No entanto, o modelo de construção sustentável vem sendo adotado especialmente em construções novas. O mesmo se pode dizer acerca dos sistemas de certificação de edificações sustentáveis, que apesar de admitirem sua aplicação em edificações existentes, são concebidos na sua maioria para a orientação de novas construções. Neste sentido, o presente artigo tem como objetivo ponderar sobre o papel assumido pelas edificações históricas na promoção da sustentabilidade do ambiente construído, considerando o panorama traçado a partir dos principais sistemas de avaliação do desempenho ambiental de edifícios surgidos até então. Para tanto, analisa-se a relação entre patrimônio construído e sustentabilidade, apresenta-se o Estado da Arte das estratégias sustentáveis da renovação/ restauração de edifícios históricos e a aplicabilidade dos sistemas de avaliação de desempenho ambiental nos edifícios históricos. A partir desta análise, conclui-se que, apesar das diversas publicações confirmando a importância e relevância das edificações históricas para o desenvolvimento sustentável, pouca pesquisa tem sido desenvolvida sobre o tema, notadamente no Brasil. O tema não é tratado como devido, resumindo-se na maioria dos casos à mensuração do consumo de recursos naturais, não apresentando valorações efetivas de ordem histórico-artística-cultural.

Abstract

The conservation of the constructed patrimony is an integral part of the sustainability. However, the model of sustainable construction comes being adopted especially in new constructions, the same occurring with the systems of certification of sustainable constructions, that although to admit its application in existing constructions, the majority clearly is conceived for the orientation of new constructions. The present article has as objective to ponder on the role assumed for the historical constructions in the promotion of the sustainability of the constructed environment, considering the panorama traced from the main systems of evaluation of the ambient performance of buildings published until then. It inserts itself in the objective biggest of the master research of that he deals with the proposal of strategies for conservation of energy in historical constructions in Brazil, aiming at to contribute for the reduction of the demand and the consumption of energy. For in such a way, it is analyzed relation between constructed patrimony and sustainability, presents the State of the Art of the sustainable strategies of the renewal restoration of historical buildings and the applicability of the systems of evaluation of ambient performance of buildings constructed patrimony. From this analysis concludes that although the diverse publications confirming the importance and relevance of the historical constructions for the sustainable development, little research has been developed on the subject, especially in Brazil. In the majority of the cases the boarding of the subject deals with the measurement of the consumption of natural resources, not presenting valuations effective of description-artistic-cultural order.
