Abstract

The displacement in human beings takes place by his own decision or in a forced way. In our planet in constant conflict the movement for a search of greater well-being and better conditions of habitability is frequent. The human being looks for his home, as a physical and psychological concept. In a marginality state the support for this aim takes a greater importance and it finds it through the group. This work studies the use of sustainable natural materials like the cane called “Guadua” in the construction of collective spaces, it is directed to communities in emergency situations, by forced displacement or natural disasters in Latin America. Guadua (Specie from the Graminea-Bambu) as main material is considered a key element of a project made to instruct and to multiply constructive skills and knowledge to a displaced community. By its versatility in the handling, fast growth in different climates and latitudes and by his low cost, Guadua is considered an effective material, alternative in construction. The constructive system determines a first stage of collective action to generate the learning and a second stage where the individual knowledge is developed and the learned things in the social, constructive and formal ambits are applied. This system thinks with sustainability criteria and taking examples from the ancestral nomad societies, following principles of easy construction, easy transport and the use of elements from the nature. As a conclusion, it is tried to generate an architecture of low environmental impact transforming the old conditions of life of a marginalized collectivity, to obtain a change and a positive evolution in the thought of this community, in relation to the environment as much as to our planet.
