Abstract

A simplified method is proposed for estimating the opening area of frequently used entrance doors and analyzing the outdoor airflow rate through entrances into a highrise office building due to the stack effect. The author tried to develop a precise simulation model for predicting the opening area changes of automatically operated sliding doors when people pass through them. In addition, through numerical analysis, a simplified estimation method is proposed of the average opening area of doors dependent on the door specifications and the number of people passing through them. Furthermore, changes in the opening area of entrance doors and the outdoor airflow rate through them on a winter day were predicted using measured entrance traffic data in a Tokyo office building.
