Abstract

This paper discusses the “castor oil”, vegetal polymer applications, to the needs of sustainable architecture and introduces a new method applied to climate and weather analysis based on “dynamic climatology”. The vegetal polyurethane “ricinus communis” can be applied to building roof systems as both waterproofing and thermal insulation. For both purposes this material eminently suits the principles of environmental sustainablity (Preigaukas 1999). It is a new kind of “sustainable architecture material”. The dynamic analysis of climate is rarely utilised in human comfort studies. There is a new possibility in adopting the dynamic approach to climate as an alternative to the habitual “classic” climate understanding method. This approach recognises climate levels, studying atmospheric circulation, based on automatic and real time meteorological data, taken at the surface. Another goal is to create an accurate alternative for characterising climates.
