Abstract

A previous paper, presented at PLEA 98, compares the climatic performances of four houses, which are of different periods and different forms. This comparison is based on temperature measurements held in 1996. The present paper compares the latter with a new set of measurements held in 1998. Our aim is to highlight the climatic adaptation of the occupiers of these houses. Two years later, it appeared that the difference between external and internal temperatures has dropped in two houses recently occupied (respectively in 1994 and 1995). However, in the case of the two other ones, occupied respectively for 15 and 20 years, the difference between external and internal temperatures remained the same during the two last years. The internal temperature in these two houses is quite low. The climatic adaptation has been achieved progressively. The occupiers spend, more or less, time in understanding their house' behavior before acting efficiently against the heat effects.
