Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study conducted to determine the comfort temperatures of individuals accustomed to different thermal environments. The relationship between the thermal votes and the ambient/globe temperature and the PMV are analyzed. For the study the results of five field studies was employed. Three of then carry out with people accustomed to air-conditioned ambiences, and other two with people accustomed to naturally ventilated ambiences. The results show important differences between the thermal conditions accepted by both groups as comfortables. Likewise, significant divergences between the subject's thermal votes and the predicted with the PMV are observed. the relationship between the thermal votes and the globe temperature is narrower in the case of naturally ventilated buildings than in the case of air conditioned buildings, where a greater dispersion of the answers is observed.
