Abstract

This research presents the results of application of one method of fabrication of high performance concrete (HPC) developed on the LCPC from Paris adapted for the materials and conditions of Brazil. Initially, the results of the prevision of the compressive strength of the concrete are presented through the strength of high performance mortar, applying a formula that already exists and has been adopted for concretes and mortars that are dosed with silica fume. Next, the results of viscosity of pastes used to determinate optimum amount of superplastificizer and silica fume are presented. With the help of these tools, it is possible to outline a method of experimental dosage for formulation of mixtures of high performance concrete, with the purpose to reach the desired properties. The advantages of the application of this method are, in short, a lesser number of trials and consequently the use of a lesser quantity of materials and guarantee of workability of the strength required.
