Abstract

Test results are reported from an experimental study in which compressive strength of high performance concrete (HPC) with time was investigated. Crushed coarse aggregate, river sand, silica fume, cement type CP-II-32F and superplasticizer were used. A constant water-cement ratio of 0.30 was employed for the mixture. A hundred and fifty specimens were casting, from which thirty specimens were tested at each age (1, 3, 7, 28, 49 and 63 days). 150x300 mm cylinders loaded in uniaxial compression at a constant stroke rate were used to determine the compressive strength. A statistical treatment assuming a normal probability distribution function was conducted. The statistical parameters used were: mean value, standard deviations and coefficient of variation. The outlier values were discarded and new statistical parameters were computed. The compressive strength and the outlier limits with time are presented. The mean value reaches 75MPa to compressive strength at 28 days. The statistical study was conducted to validate the tests.
