Abstract

Calculating heat flow and internal surface temperature design values of surface conductance (in other terms: film coefficient) is taken into account. It is well known, that in the case of natural convection the surface conductance is a power function of temperature difference. The same applies to the radiant heat exchange - in practice its effect is „embodied” in the design hi value. Along the edges and thermal bridges the mutual interrelation of surface temperature and surface conductance is influenced by the multidimensional heat flows in the building elements, the geometry (edge, corner) and several random effects. First results of ongoing monitoring are presented and more realistic design values are proposed, the later based on statistical analysis. Related ventilation heat loss problems are analysed.
