Resumo

 Em um mercado competitivo, onde a busca pela produtividade e a maximização do nível de serviço é uma exigência, investir em tecnologia é vital. Disponibilizar materiais no local, hora, quantidade e qualidade exigidas, assim como, manter informações e acompanhamento de todos os processos on-line é cada vez mais necessário. Quanto maior for o leque de atividades desenvolvidas e de confiabilidade das operações, mais a empresa estará conseguindo se destacar em meio aos seus concorrentes e, por conseqüência, mais necessitará estar habilitada tecnologicamente. Os fatores mencionados conduzem para a necessidade da busca por tecnologias de informação e automação, de modo a permitir que as atividades e os processos operacionais se desenvolvam mais eficaz e eficientemente. A estrutura logística representa um dos principais focos de usos estratégicos das tecnologias de informações. Existe uma gama muito grande dessas tecnologias a disposição sendo utilizadas rotineira e abrangentemente no setor industrial seriado com resultados inquestionáveis e que poderão beneficiar da mesma forma a construção civil. Sob esse enfoque, o trabalho procura destacar entre as tecnologias logísticas operacionais, aquelas que mais possibilidades de contribuição podem oferecer ao setor construtivo e a maneira de sua implementação.

Abstract

 In a competitive market, where the search for productivity and for maximum service level is a must, investment in new technology is vital. To have materials at the right time and at the right place, with the right quantity and an adequate quality level, is a necessity. On the other hand, it is equally necessary to get on-line information and to keep control on-line of all processes. As long as the spectra of activities increase, with the consequent increased demand for better reliability of operations, the firm will have more competitive chances, and consequently it will be forced to update its technological resources. These mentioned factors indicate the need for searching for new information and automation technologies in order to guarantee that the operating processes develop in a more efficient and effective way. The logistics structure represents one of the main ways to strategically use Information Technology. There are, in fact, ample available spectra of opportunities, which are presently routinely used in the serial-production industries, with unquestionable positive results. These opportunities will certainly yield the same benefits if extensively implemented in the building construction industry. The paper intends to show the logistics operational technologies that present a better chance of positive results if applied to the building sector, showing also how they can be implemented.
